Sip'n Save began in 1979 as an initiative of independent hoteliers, at about the same time two other groups were formed, namely Bargains and Red White and Amber. Over a period of 18 months, the three groups merged to form a strong group of about 80 hotels to trade under the Sip'n Save name. Sip'n Save has grown to representing over 280 hotels in South Australia.
Today Sip'n Save outlets are located throughout South Australia with a member in each major regional town and about 70 members in the Adelaide metro area. In May 2005 Sip'n Save signed a joint venture with Liquor Marketing Group, bringing the backing of a major national organisation.
The Sip'n Save website is powered by Komodo CMS and designed by Smart Works. The site was launched on March 3, 2008.
